Self-isolation journal in Covid-19 times

26 Thursday Mar 2020

We are in the risk area for this new virus, me as pregnant in the last week (week 40), Jonatan with his asthma and my mother that is here visiting has both a heart condition, respiratory issues and hyper tension at her 64 years old.

We went into self-isolation a bit over 2 weeks ago because we realised that although many people are civilised and practice good manners, many others are a serious danger to the society with their ignorance of this virus or any other virus. People don’t respect the basic hygiene rules of not coughing in the air, or in their hands and touch products in shops after, or touch their running noses, or clean their hands, sneeze in your face, etc. We see what’s happening in the rest of Europe, mostly Italy, but seems like every country is following because Europe is so not ready for an outbreak. And since our baby girl is coming any time, the last thing I need is to get sick of an unknown virus with no treatment to date. Sweden is not taking any measures in containing this virus, however they did change a few things in the birth routines ( 1. the dad can’t be with his baby anymore in maternity – no matter if healthy or not and 2. if he shows any simptom of cold, he can’t be there to support the mom through birth). Not sure what the role of these rules are, but surely it would depress me to not have J by my side at birth because of a simple cold (would be nice to just test dads and find out if it’s corona, but well, Sweden stopped testing…)

Oh the most important of all, if I would be suspected of Corona, I’d give birth with a midwife dressed in protection equipment – how unsettling that is? – very well motivated however. We don’t want our medical staff to get sick.

So that’s why we isolated, even tho Sweden is far away from enforcing that on its people. I wish I trusted people more and say hey we don’t need this as long as we stay away, but the last few weeks I sadly lost a bit of hope in humanity. Thank goodness this is not such a transformative virus. If a zombie apocalypse would come, we’d all be the walking dead.

We are now isolated for 2 weeks and it works just perfect! I worked from home before also so no loss there, I defended my bachelor thesis online on Zoom, I talk to my friends through video all the time. I don’t miss anything from outside cause I get everything home! We order food home, shop online from both smaller local stores and all over Sweden, have been stocking up on some foods from before, but a little of everything not huge quantities. J shops fresh milk and other things once a week when the shop is almost empty, wearing gloves and carefully distancing himself of other shoppers.

It’s disturbing however that there are people still not taking the situation serious, he always comes home dissappointed that people still: cough in the air, cough in their hands and then touch products, not walk minimum one meter away from eachother, elderly esspecially.

It’s not so hard to practice social distancing when you have so many shops moving to digital!

I will continue to support our local shops and restaurants from distance, I am however sorry for all the other types of businesses that can’t survive without people in place, events and hotels for ex. This is a hard time for everyone tho, and we need to play our cards right if we’re gonna beat this.

To be honest, the only thing I missed out on is to give a goodbye hug to my uni friends who all left the town now since school ended for us and properly celebrate that we’re finally done after 3 years.

Anyways, 3 days left until due date. Next time I’ll write here, I’ll be a mom! 😀

Vacation time is here!

I really can’t express how disappointed I am on my ability to stay on track with writing on the blog constantly. I post so much on Instagram and it feels like everyone is watching my Instastories, so I basically say everything there. Which is wrong of me, of course, cause I only post my visual daily bits.

But I promise for the 10th zillion time to get better!

Anyways, I have to put up in the agenda the plans for the future, and probably the most important decision of this year: in August I’ll be going back to the benches of the University! As I wrote here, I have applied for a spot into the 3 years Bachelor Program for Graphic Design & Web Development of Jönköping’s School of Engineering. Proud and happy that I got in, although there was a limited number of students! When I got my letter of acceptance at first, I was a little bit confused if I can really do this at this point in my life, but after some meditation I figured it’s what I want to do, to improve my design skills and be a better marketer and developer. I’m confident it’s going to be a fun time in my life, and no, not because of #studentlife (I’ve had that once back home in Romania, so a second one at 29 yo would seriously be creepy).

But before that, guess what?

VACAY time is here! Not that I’ve been too home stable the last year, but this vacation I’ve been looking forward for so much! It’s my favourite destination in the whole world: Amalfi Coast! Positano & Capri for almost 2 weeks! Such a dream, it took us 2 days of search to find and book the whole trip, and if there wouldn’t exist Airbnb, we’d probably not be able to travel there, as every nice hotel at a human price was fully booked. And seriously, if you go to Positano, you need a room with a view, and for that you pay a super extravagant price. We’ve got a beautiful villa from a lovely Italian lady which I can’t wait to meet, that has an amazing huge terrace with a view over Positano and a private beach.

After Amalfi, we’re going to our family house in Alicante, and spend 2 weeks of calmness, beach and relaxation just right before returning home back to reality and a new full time school. Wow how weird that sounds: back to school!

Thankfully, now with the free roaming in Europe, I’m gonna post all the time from my La Dolce Vita trip! Stay in touch on Instagram!

What are your summer plans? I’m so curious to know what is everyone doing this summer!

Design Studies Planning, Dubai Trip and Easter With My Lovely Family

A fully busy period comes ahead and I can’t be more happy for it! First of all, I’ve got a crazy idea for a long time, which I finally dared to make a first step for. I applied for a new Bachelor program in Jönköping’s University of Engineering, a 3 years program called New Media Design, which is basically graphic design & web development. Cannot express how anxious, nervous and emotional I am about it,  and I have to make myself forget until I get an answer if I got in or not, which will be in the summer… So fingers crossed,  please! [bs_icon name=”glyphicon glyphicon-education”]

Writing from Stockholm in the lounge of the hotel we are staying in for the next two days, just before travelling to Dubai! Before I left home, I had a lot of cleaning and preparing for Easter, not because I need to, or because my home is dirty, but because my mother is coming to visit!

And you know moms, or at least mine, comes and checks ever little corner of dust and other stories. That is, in fact, something I wish I would have inherited from her. Anyway, I’m really excited that I get to celebrate Easter with my family in Sweden! My sister and niece haven’t been here in 2 years so it was quite the time for them to visit. Plus, they love Jönköping!

On Sunday we’ll travel to Dubai for both work and pleasure. Work, cause I will visit the largest tech conference in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa), STEP Conference 2017; pleasure, cause I’ll be staying at Rixos The Palm Hotel, and I’ll be at the beach all the rest of the time!

I’ll probably post non-stop from Dubai on my Instagram and surely on my Insta-story, so make sure to follow me there, cause I’ve heard Dubai is fabulous!

Fab weekend to you all!

Saturday’s Mood – Breakfast in Bed & Movie

Not every weekend looks the same in our home, but most of the weekends include movie and breakfast in bed. It became a tradition for the last 2 years. We change roles every week, one of us fixes the breakfast and the other finds a good adventure movie or a comedy. It’s so relaxing to start the day like this without worries and stress, giving time to ourselves to just wake up properly and leave behind the working week’s noise. At least for a while more, until we’ll have children which will require our attention first thing in the morning 🙂

We’ve been talking about keeping this tradition alive, for when we’ll have children. We’ll have to see if that’ll work. I think it’s very important with traditions in the family.

Breakfast-in-bed

Wish this would be my breakfast in bed, but it’s not 🙂 Photo from: Lokal Milk on Pinterest – https://www.pinterest.se/pin/216735800796164695/

Our bedroom is very dark, no light coming in in the mornings, so it’s very hard to get a good photo with my phone. Thinking about buying a good camera, but I am so bad at this technique that I don’t even know what to choose. I’ll start investigating soon.

Going back to today, we’ve had our traditional breakfast in bed, watched a really funny comedy “Why Him?” with James Franco and now it’s gym time. Later today I’ll have to finalise a project I’m working on and probably we’ll have some coffee with the family on the late afternoon. Thinking even about baking this easy strawberry cheesecake recipe I found on Pinterest: Strawberry Cheesecake Baked Oatmeal.

What are your weekend plans?

Love, L.

About Boxes & How They Change Our Lives

about boxes, boxes, gift box, ideas for gifts, les gifts

Boxes. We see them everywhere. We see them disguised in candle lanterns, in tables, in stoles, in the mail post, in the mall, on the street being handed to someone, we use them to organise our lives and our homes. Such a simple term and anyway so much meaning to it. Think a minute about this:

Boxes are changing our lives.

What do you think I’m talking about? The ring box He proposes you with in his knees? (like anyone still does that today. do they??); the moving boxes that carry our lives from a place to another? The box we collect our stuff from the office when changing jobs (or have been fired!). The mail box waiting for love letters never (or always!) to be received? The boxes delivered at home after a sweet online shopping spree. The gift box you’ve received, that once opened, made your day, week, month, year, life, better, happier and sweeter.

Boxes are everywhere, and more and more instinctive in our lives. We need them, but they need us more. They need us to believe that in between those 4 little walls something greatly is expecting. They need us to open them and treat them not as objects but as disguised messengers of love, friendship and continuity.

Have you noticed how many businesses using boxes as their primary selling point have been popping up the last years? For example, you can subscribe to all kinds of boxes nowadays. Baking boxes, photo boxes, beauty boxes, testing products boxes, even clothing boxes. Boxes you subscribe to, pay a monthly fee and get them delivered at home without any minimum effort from you. These boxes are meant to make your life easier, of course, they are also financially profitable for the business owners, but you get to be spoiled every month with a cute box coming at home to you and suddenly feel like it’s Christmas!

Why am I writing about boxes just suddenly?

Our Les Gifts boxes arrived and on Monday we’ll have the first shooting with them! What an exciting moment! It all started with the idea of gifts should always come in beautiful and special boxes!

When Life Gets Busy…

life gets busy, new year new me

How could 2016 pass this fast? I still didn’t wake up to realize we are for 10 days in 2017! I mean, 2017 was supposed to be so far away in the future, and now I’m in it! The truth is…I’ve been so stressed and busy last year that I haven’t really lived, therefore, didn’t feel the time passing by me, like a shadow in the wind.

Oh well, just in case you wondered if I’m still alive, I am. For those of you who follow my Instagram, you get to see parts of my daily life, so surely you understand why I haven’t been able to post here for like…(it’s been so long I can’t even count the weeks/months). I’m so bad at reporting, I think that’s why I never called Lorellay a blog, cause I can’t seem to find the balance in my life to stop by an report.

But I missed writing here, I have so many stories…so many places I’ve seen since then, which hopefully you’ve followed over my Instagram stories. I have about 23 different drafts that I was supposed to polish, add pictures, edit, and publish. What happened? Well, here’s some explanations:

[bs_icon name=”glyphicon glyphicon-ok”]  New project: Lesgifts.com – won’t say much about it, but it’s fabulous! – here you can discover amazing design gifts, buy them and send them to your friends or family around Europe. The pluses: 1. each order comes handwrapped in silk paper and the fabulous signature #lesgiftsbox black or rose, no matter if you get it for yourself or gift it  2. designed handwritten cards included  3. all products are produced and created by independent designers, creative brands, artists, artisans & Co. with the same passion as ours, which is form and functionality – How cool is that?

[bs_icon name=”glyphicon glyphicon-ok”]  New job: yes, I went back to the office life! Can you believe it? It’s pretty cool, I work as a digital strategist in a digital agency here in Jönköping, I love having a desk again instead of working on my dinning table or couch, and of course, I get to wake up in the mornings and prep for the day! Hang on there pijama uniform, I’m back to office outfits and heels!

[bs_icon name=”glyphicon glyphicon-ok”]  New trips: Lisbon for the Websummit (if you didn’t see my story during those days in November, you lost sooooo much!) where I met some incredible women! I have to give credits to Women in Tech and Websummit for the fabulous organisation. Alicante during the summer where we actually bought a family summer house. Say what??? I’ve been so excited, but we just recently decorated it, so I didn’t have time to take fabulous pictures. Zurich in Christmas for the annual meeting of the squirrels. Just kidding. The annual meeting with my best friends! Last year we spent New Year with them in Istanbul, 2 years ago they visited me in Christmas in Sweden, 2016 was Zurich time. Real friendship, knows no barrier.
lorellayA lot of changes have happened during 2016, both in my personal and professional life. I grew, oh dear, and how much, I developed, I developed better relationships and projects that I have been only dreaming of. I worked hard and much, but I also damaged my body and state of mind, as I didn’t take very well care of myself.

And as of my resolution list for 2017, this year I only want to accomplish 3 things: take better and constant care of my body and soul, stay calm and stop stressing out when things are out of my control and of course…write more often on Lorellay. Even if it’s shorter posts, or inspirational boards, I want to update the site more often.

The first post of 2017 is closing here, but I already work on my next post!

See you soon and hope you’re still reading this 🙂 Hands up if you do!

I could say December’s Favorites, or I could say: The products I am obsessed with right now!

We all have some products we’ve fell in love with, or a pair of jeans among others, that we don’t undress anymore. Well, a new year is coming soon and I was thinking to list my favorite products in 2015. And that’s how I noticed I got some fixations this year. For example, I almost haven’t used any other perfume ever since I got the Tom Ford Velvet Orchid fragrance. It’s a strong one, so it best works it’s magic on the evenings, but…oh well..who cares? I wear it anytime!

Then it’s the black turtleneck blouse which I bought from 5 different brands. It’s so classic, stylish and easy to wear with anything, and I always feel creative when wearing it. Basically, it’s my new little black dress for daytimes.

Last but not least, my Diesel ankle boots with metal hooks. I got so attached to them, that I ordered a new pair after the first one I bought just broke! I felt like giving them a second chance, because they’re so comfortable for daytime casual walks and beautiful at the same time.

You can find all the products in the image on my Polyvore.

Name three products you got obsessed with this month, or this year.

Love Was My Alibi and My Mood for Today

It’s surprising how sometimes a song can input images and feelings inside our mind and heart. When I first watched Inception, I thought this would be impossible, but later in life I understood we don’t need a machine or some technology to make that possible. Just one song can induce memories, feelings, moods and emotions, and just listening to a song can make you take decisions you would never take otherwise. Like breaking up with someone in order to feel the way you feel when listening to that song, but with a man; like searching for a new love; like making new friends, or searching for the old ones; like taking new chances in life, finding new opportunities or motivate yourself to get past the problems you’re into. Music gives us power, emotion, dreams, potential, energy or destinations. Music gives us aspirations and goals. It makes us dream, and keeps us determined to make our dreams come true.

One of these songs for me is the new discovered “Love was my alibi” by Kris Fogelmark. Kris is a fabulous Swedish singer, whose name I’ve never heard before, but whose voice melts the coldest corners of my soul. I’ve been hearing this song in the end of the movie “The Water Diviner”, which was an absolutely amazing movie as well, and after a long research, I found out that the lyrics are composed by Rusell Crowe himself (the main actor in the movie), and that the song is not released yet, which means no downloadable file, no Spotify, Tidal, so sad! But I’ve found a few videos on YouTube that keeps me warm in the nights. So, enjoy! Close your eyes and dream…

P.S. I advise you to listen to it with headsets for a lovely experience!

A Different Valentines Day – Sexy, Naughty, Daring

bordelle lingerie, daring valentines, different valentines day, erotic ideas for valentines, erotic lingerie, erotic suprises, how to make your man crazy, naughty on valentines, sexy valentines day, teasing dance

Hey beauties, I believe every girl has a secret weapon for a memorable night on Valentine’s Day. But mine is a little bit outside the box. I got a few comments on Facebook, asking me what do I think a creative and different Valentines Day means and I decided to share my thoughts here too.

My crazy thought is that 14th February is not only for celebrating the love and respect shared by deux amoureux, but also the fantasies, secret thoughts and desires. I always search for occasions to surprise him with new things, romantic or wild… But on Valentines, there is just something that makes me want to go outside the patterns. Maybe the commercial use of this day, maybe the fact that every man knows already what to expect: a dinner with you in a beautiful sexy dress or a movie with erotic scenes. Certainly, you have to change the routine sometimes, and this is the perfect occasion. I love romance and just watching a good romantic movie in front of the TV is one of my favorite things to do with my beloved one, but it never hurts to spice up the atmosphere in occasions like this.

Here are a few ideas of a naughty, sexy and daring Valentines Day to surprise your man with:

Bordelle.com Valentines day ideas

By Bordelle.co.uk

1. Leave your clothes home.

Try surprising him by knocking on his door wearing only a trench coat, a black necklace, high heels and red lipstick. And as Marylin would say, nothing more than Chanel No. 5! This is a classic and is absolutely sexy, in my opinion. Just make sure that when he opens the door, he’s alone! If you live together, go to his office, or leave the house and come back, be crazy, be creative, inspire him!

2. His ultimate fantasy

Find out what his deepest desires are, and make one of them come true. If he dreams of you dressed in a sexy nurse, you still have time to find something in the specialized shops.

3. Dance, Mon amour!

Turn him on before the day even starts. Send a message informing him that you are waiting with a romantic dinner, put your red lipstick on, highest heels and the new SEXY, NAUGHTY lingerie you were planning on wearing anyway (I hope!), open that bottle of champagne so you will get some courage and wait for him on the table – as in “you’re his dinner”. When he arrives, let yourself free into the sexy waves of the background erotic music. Dance, dance and love!

4. Breakfast in bed

A good Valentines morning starts with you dressing up in a very sexy maid before he wakes up. Feed him, kiss him and give him a memorable morning to look after again in the future!

Let the fireworks explode!

qwiser_erotique_50_shades

No matter what your choice is, remember to always tease him. Send him sexy, erotic and love messages, early in the week, keep sending until the actual day. Tease him with pictures, videos, small gifts like just a teddy bear with I love You written on his heart, range between moods and show him the woman inside you. The woman that wants to play with his mind, his body and his desires. The same one that knows best how to turn him on and off, how to take care of him, spoil him or destroy him. Make him remember in this holy love day, that you own each other’s minds and fantasies.

Love is sharing…everything!

Enjoy your Valentines weekend!

With love,
