I just realized that autumn came and black is back! I absolutely can’t wait to wear my leather pants and pencil skirts, the over-knee black boots and style them all with these new babies. My fashion crush this season are the capes! Just a few days ago I was looking for a beige cape and trench to fill out my fall garderobe with, and I realized there aren’t so many choices yet.

I’m curious, what is your fashion crush this season?

I have to tell you something about me. I’m not a huge jewelry wearer, I own enough to fill the blank space in my dressing room, but almost always forget to wear them. I have a few favorites that I alternate from time to time, and the rest they just sit nicely in their boxes, to give a nice retro chic look to my dressing room. When I make a new acquisition, an important aspect for me is can I wear it with multiple outfits? Is it color-friendly? Because I don’t have the same mentality as a teenager anymore to just do impulsive shopping of bling-blings.

Do you ever stop buying accessories?

Last week, my friend from Istanbul recommended me a new brand of accessories that, according to her, “is going to rock the market!”, Mihaelas 198 Design. I’ve seen the pictures, but you know, sometimes pictures don’t really speak for the product. Though, these ones were looking nice and classy. Plated in gold, silver, with black Zircona diamond, and most importantly for me, matte! I love matte accessories, lipstick and nail polish! [bs_icon name=”glyphicon glyphicon-heart”]

To be honest, when the post came, I was so surprised to see such a stylish package, I now use their box to keep my earrings 🙂

What can be more satisfying, creative and tremendously fun, than visiting some of your most loved places in the same vacation, while combining old with new, fun with culture, beach time with hiking, luxury with countrysides and simple living? Well, I would say nothing… but I would lie! I’ll explain why, in the last article of this My European Car Trip series.

We took one month off from our regular life to have a journey around our European favorite places, to get to know them better, and explore the unseen. Moreover, with the car, all the way from Sweden to Italy, and back.

So we wrapped our bags and jumped in the car, with a new GPS and our credit cards, not knowing where we actually are heading to, except the countries we want to explore: We would stop in Siegen, Germany to visit relatives, Zurich to visit friends, other parts of Switzerland, and then southeast France and Italy. No limits on Italy, we planned to not plan Italy at all!

We drove 3 h from Jönköping to Helsinborg where a ferry crosses every 15 minutes for 20 minutes, continuing with more driving in Denmark, all the way South to Rödby, where we took another 45 minute ferry to Puttgarden in Germany. The experience with the ferry was magnificent, more than expected! I always wanted to do this, but never got the chance. To drive the car inside the huuuge boat, park it, go out and take a nice lunch upstairs in the restaurant, from where you can see how the boat is leaving the shore second by second…moreover, there is even duty free’s on the boats, thing I haven’t knew in 27 years! (I know…I sound like a child 🙂 )

First stop was Hamburg just for a coffee and snack, then Hannover was the sleepover place – I must admit, we jumped in bed quite fast after such a long road 🙂

Second day, we’ve been travelling into the East side of Germany, to Siegen – Neunkirschen, a cute little town in Germany, visited relatives and the Old Town.

Interesting fact about Germany:

On every highway, there is a church with amazing design! Don’t miss them, if you pass by!

To be sincere, this part of the trip was all about family and spending quality time with them. I’ve returned to the roots for 2 days, to a childhood full of amazing memories such as picking fruit from the trees or stealing from the neighbors’ gardens 🙂

After creating a few more memories here, we drove to Switzerland where I totally fell in love with Zurich and Lugano and everything in between! See more in the next article. Now the fun begins!

It’s surprising how sometimes a song can input images and feelings inside our mind and heart. When I first watched Inception, I thought this would be impossible, but later in life I understood we don’t need a machine or some technology to make that possible. Just one song can induce memories, feelings, moods and emotions, and just listening to a song can make you take decisions you would never take otherwise. Like breaking up with someone in order to feel the way you feel when listening to that song, but with a man; like searching for a new love; like making new friends, or searching for the old ones; like taking new chances in life, finding new opportunities or motivate yourself to get past the problems you’re into. Music gives us power, emotion, dreams, potential, energy or destinations. Music gives us aspirations and goals. It makes us dream, and keeps us determined to make our dreams come true.

One of these songs for me is the new discovered “Love was my alibi” by Kris Fogelmark. Kris is a fabulous Swedish singer, whose name I’ve never heard before, but whose voice melts the coldest corners of my soul. I’ve been hearing this song in the end of the movie “The Water Diviner”, which was an absolutely amazing movie as well, and after a long research, I found out that the lyrics are composed by Rusell Crowe himself (the main actor in the movie), and that the song is not released yet, which means no downloadable file, no Spotify, Tidal, so sad! But I’ve found a few videos on YouTube that keeps me warm in the nights. So, enjoy! Close your eyes and dream…

P.S. I advise you to listen to it with headsets for a lovely experience!

Didn’t I mention this in my New trends in Fashion, Beauty and Home in 2015 article some time ago? As promised, after I attended Stockholm Beauty Week press and bloggers event on Monday, I will share with you my experience there, whatever things I’ve learned and all the new revolutionary products I discovered during the event. But to summarize, this year’s event was all about natural, ecological and organic beauty products. Is that where the trends are going? Probably yes, since Scandinavia is the kickstarter of everything trendy.

Nature gives the best cosmetics

What surprised me at the Stockholm beauty Week, is the unexpected fact that all the beauty brands attending the event were nature oriented brands. It surprised me in a pleasant way. All the presented products were either 100% from natural ingredients, ecological, organic, holistic, bio or aiming to become 100% natural. Actually, I keen to believe that the theme of the event was healthy beauty. Besides cosmetic, there were a number of other brands that relate to our beauty, THE INNER ONE: personal trainers presenting their spring boot-camps with customized diets and products to be used on the go and raw/vegan food or juice companies that showed the importance of the amount of vitamins we add into our bodies, from a beauty perspective.

Many new and interesting brands were showcasing their products at Stockholm Beauty Week, to name a few of them: True Organic of Sweden – Tina, the responsible for the brand at the event, was so nice and gave me a few products to try at home, and will sure do! The brand uses only natural oils as ingredients, but what most impressed me is their packaging copy, tone of voice of the brand and their values! Take a look at this:

Philip Martin’s – a real Italian organic lifestyle. A totally new hair care brand for me, they recently came into the Swedish market and their products look just so classy and fabulous! Highlights: they have an organic baby kit that is perfect for gifts and one of their shampoos is favourited by the amazing designer Valentino – I was offered to try it at home together with the conditioner. It’s hard to make me change my Kerastase shampoos, but I’ll give it a try and see what Valentino loves about it!

Compagnie de Provence – not a first for me, I’ve been using their hand soaps for a long time now. I love their packaging, so simple, minimalist and glamorous at the same time, and the quality is absolutely satisfying! Maybe you’ve seen them in shops, they can’t be missed!

Natura Siberica – beautiful packages and ecologic certified products for body, hair and face.

Raw food and natural juices from Reko Eco and Nordic Superfood – and an inspirational speech by Nordic Superfood’s founder, Linda Myreberg, about the importance of collagen in our food, for beauty benefits.

Innovation – Airbrush makeup

The first time for me to see this new make up technique and I must say I’m really impressed! The foundation is clearly less visible than through the traditional way! Still not sure about pricing or if you can have one at home, but I guess father Google could help us with that. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a quality picture on that. 🙁 So much people around that my camera was shaking all the time! 🙂

Trends – Sweden goes for the natural beauty

It’s as simply as it sounds. The times when wearing much make up was the hottest way you could affirm yourself, are now gone. Wearing make up, for me is essential, you know I wouldn’t ever leave the house without SPF, foundation, mascara and lipstick. Maybe skip mascara sometimes, when my eyes are fresh and big. 🙂 The makeup trends are going into a natural, relatively neutral look, centering the attention on the health of the skin, eyes and lips. For that, it is extremely important to use all the pre-makeup products that are moisturizing, as well as deep treatments with natural oils, serums or creams.

What we do when we’re young, influences the future us

Make up routines should include the preparation of your skin, meaning: cleansing, toning, hydrating and SPF or primer added just before you apply foundation, as well as hydrating the eyes, which means you should use a special eye-cream or serum before applying any concealer. I know it sounds hard, using so many products just before make up, but the specialists suggest we do that if we want to look beautiful, younger and fresh, later on in life.

It was a pleasant experience to be there and I will definitely do it next year again, to find out the trends, to discover new brands and products, and to hear the educative speeches regarding beauty and the future of it.

Before I leave, I even got a goodiebag with products from all the exhibitors, ha! They offered this to all the press and bloggers that attended the event. Cute and useful. I’ll now try the products for myself, exciting, right?

To me, beauty means femininity. I think it’s important to notice that nowadays beauty is not a word only for women, even though we are the beautiful sex. Men are more and more involved in the beauty or fashion industry and I’m not talking here only about the professional level, but also about men’s interest in beauty products, treatments or their desire to be remarked, appreciated or just younger. So yes, beauty to me still means femininity, even though I respect those men interested in it.

Beauty’s definition is self-confidence. But one can’t survive without the other. It’s such a complex subject, but in a way so simple. Imagine this: 2 women, same make up and hairstyle, one feels good in it, the other doesn’t. Which one of them will be more beautiful? I think that explains it all. Just be yourself and wear whatever makes you feel good, but try to always add something new into your style. A small piece at least, like a hat or different type of sunglasses, rings or necklaces, a different shade of lipstick. For me it works this way, something new gives me more self confidence. I think it applies to many women, though. What means beauty for you?

I wrote this, on my sunny balcony this morning, after I got the invitation to Stockholm Beauty Week tomorrow, where, of course, beauty will be the primary subject. Last year’s event took place in So Stockholm and so is this year. Isabella Lowengrip, aka Blondinbella, was one of the guest speakers, to introduce her cosmetic line LLC. I will attend the press & media events from 10:00 to 13:00, and some of the afternoon seminaries. I’m so excited to see the new trends in beauty, and mostly, to find out what newbies are on the Swedish market. Hi, beautiful creatures! As Loredana wrote just before, I have a little secret to share with you! I’ve been really experiencing the “health paradise” on Earth, RICKATSCHWENDE, and I want to share with you my feelings and what this experience is about! The beautiful, calm place, the special cure I followed here, the benefits of it, and much more!

This peaceful place is located in the heart of the clean Austrian Alps, in a warm small city called Dornbirn, a hillside location in the triangle of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It’s a health center, but so different than others I’ve visited before. There is a special program I came here for, Mayr Regeneration Program! I found it so interesting and so stimulating, perfect to refill your power and energy. I will share with you some secrets from this warm residence and the magnificent things I’ve done here.

First of all, the program starts at 06:55 with a BitterSalt drink (some kind of a saline drink), which I got on an empty stomach and waited half an hour before going to breakfast. Now, I have to mention this to you, before I came here, I actually thought I’m going to only drink smoothies and detox juice (as I did in the detox center in Bodrum, last year). But it was nothing like that here! We’ve actually eaten food, local meats and lactates. The in-house breakfast prepared by themselves is all natural (local ingredients from the village) and it includes goat cheese, yoghurt and some slices of old, hard bread.

After enjoying my breakfast in such a warm atmosphere, the guests are invited to the morning gymnastic, culminating with a therapist meeting to check your diet, your body fat and to give you advices. The most attractive part is the 12:00 moment, when you should be in your room waiting for a therapist that comes to check you up and performs a treatment for you, with a hot leather bag full of hay and a bag with mountain flowers, placing them on your liver. This process lasts 20 minutes and its purpose is to eliminate all the toxins from your liver, to accelerate the process of cleaning and refreshing. I was always falling asleep during these intense and pure 20 minutes, and I literally woke up with charged batteries.

After this procedure, I went to lunch, which is also a mixture of local, ecological and fresh products, then I usually made different stimulating activities, such as hiking in the beautiful forest, climbing the mountains or just listening the calming sound of nature, while walking around. Ooohhhhh it is simply so chill, breathing this strong and healthy air of the Alps.

When I turned back to the hotel I felt a little bit tired, so I recommend you do as I usually did: join the super relaxing spa, where you can enjoy the sauna, hot and cold bath, indulge relaxing massages or just swim. The staff is professional and very friendly with each client, they make you feel so comfortable, they treat you like a family member and the most important thing is they always wear a smile on their face, sharing positivity!

A very important aspect I’ve learned here, is that our body needs to disconnect from every negative vibe, it needs to breath silence, and to be hydrated with a lot of healthy tea. I tested a lot of flavors of delicious and natural teas, such as: ginger, stinging nettle, verbena, fennel, green tea, cottonwood, lemongrass, dandelion and peppermint. All these are helping blood cleansing and stimulate our metabolism, they are purifying and fight against infections.

During the cure in this special place, I’ve met a lot of interesting people, educated and with different life perspectives, with strong careers and characters. This is a real chance to connect and socialize, to exchange opinions and knowledges.

I am happy I followed this program, I’m so in love with this quiet and calm place! The program was really effective since I feel as reborn, my body and mind are full of energy, my hair and eyes are shining and my skin is glowing of happiness. After this experience, I’m ready to turn back to basic life, I am ready to study and learn more about life. I could talk hours, days or more about my little paradise, but words cannot describe the Zen mood this place gave me! You should feel, you should touch and you should see with your own eyes, to understand what I’m talking about. I will be very melancholic looking back on these days. Hope to see you again beautiful and warm RICKATSCHWENDE!!!

A school that was awarded several times at Cannes Lions as being worlds best communication school! And yes, now I proudly can say that after only a month of studying, I enjoy every single assignment and every week I can’t wait for new projects to work on. Finally, I got to share this with you! I have a little surprise for you today, a special guest who has been my dearest friend since forever! Paula is not a blogger, not a writer, nor an advertiser. She is a traveler! I don’t know if the weather in your country got warmer, but in Sweden it feels like winter starts just now! We didn’t have almost any snow in December, and January was surprisingly warm for a Nordic country. I hope these changes are not caused by the global warming – and as a short parenthesis here, please recycle so we don’t have to move on The Moon later on! For the last 2 weeks, it’s snowing continued and the temperatures are insanely low! I hoped that in February I will be able to take out from my closet at least few spring items, but there is absolutely no chance to do that…yet!

The worst part is that I got so bored of my winter outfits and mostly accessories. I love the winter colors, but wearing the same gloves, boots, clothes or hats, over and over again for the last winterish months, made me so depressed that I had to go shopping one more time for cold weather fashion items. I really didn’t want to shop any more winter clothes – says no woman ever! – and I would use here that funny emoticon with the monkey hiding her face!

I actually planed that my first shopping session of 2015 will be a hunt after spring jeans, stilettos, sandals, skirts and beautiful pale color silk shirts, but this weather forced me to refresh my winter garderobe once again! 🙂 I was anyway very excited by my new stuff so directly when I got home, I started to make pictures of them! Aren’t we all doing that when we love something that we just bought or found?

It’s Fancy Events is a luxury event company based in L.A. and Stockholm, founded and run by Fancy Alexandersson, a superb, creative and chic entrepreneur from Sweden. Fancy lives in L.A and she is a must have guest on all the red carpet events and parties.

I am super proud to say she chose me to join her awesome team, as an Editor & Contributor for her website and blog. We already worked for a few weeks and we both feel this is going to be a very interesting trip, since we have so many things in common, as the sense for luxury, fashion and style 😀 (Modest me, ha-ha)

It’s Fancy Events promotes fashion brands at exclusive events and red carpets around the world, and it’s producing own events for millionaires, celebrities or entrepreneurs. On It’s Fancy Events you will find qualitative recommendations on hotels, restaurants, parties & party advices, things to do in different corners of the world, where It’s Fancy Events team was. You will also be able to see insights from the parties and events, the company organizes or attends to, as the annual Golden Globes, Oscars, Sundance Film Festival, Super Bowl or Fashion Weeks.
